A DUI Can Put Your CDL at Immediate Risk
A first qualifying DUI offense can result in at least a one-year CDL disqualification. Operating a commercial vehicle with a BAC of 0.04 or higher can also result in a one-year disqualification. Certain hazardous-material circumstances can increase it to three years.
A second qualifying offense can result in lifetime CDL disqualification.
These consequences can apply even when the underlying offense did not occur while you were driving for work.
